Cozy Summer For Autumn Souls
If like me you find yourself longing for the golden leaves, rainy afternoons, and the comforting scent of cinnamon while everyone else is lounging on the beach or relishing a busy social calendar - you’re not alone. Summer can feel loud and hot, especially for those of us who find peace in the softness of a sweater. This is post is for those autumn souls who started the countdown to September the moment the calendar showed August 1st.
I know how overwhelming the summer months can be, but I’m confident that there is a way to soften our days and enjoy the journey, rather that waiting for the fall breeze. So here are some of the things I’ll try to embrace a cozy summer.

Cozy Corners and Light Fabrics
You don’t need only flannel and blankets to feel cozy. Create your own little heaven with light linen throws, soft pillows, a cozy books and some fans(or your preferred choice for cooling down). I would even suggest turning your balcony or outside space into a cozy retreat for cold drinks, reading in the evenings or even watching a movie on a projector. What a perfect way to enjoy your own space while still being technically outside.
Romanticize Mornings and Evenings
The middle of the day might be too harsh, but the early mornings and golden hour evenings? They are made for autumn souls. I’ve always struggled a lot with the heat and I tend to feel very drained even if I don’t do anything physically demanding. My whole body seems to rebel against the high temperatures so in the summer months I do tend to start my days a little earlier that usual. I really enjoy the quiet moments when the city hasn’t yet woken up and the air is not buzzing with energy. Finding time to enjoy the cooler moments of the day like mornings and evenings, and swapping my latte and tea for an….iced latte and ice tea has been helping me find piece and brace myself for the rest of the day or simply reflect.
Curate a Summer Soundtrack
I am a big believer that music has the ability to change our moods. So when everything starts to feel too noisy, try turning the volume down by playing some cozy background music. I really enjoy acoustic guitars, gentle piano or lo-fi beats. Even ambient forest sounds or a calming river stream might be exactly what you need to find your balance again.

Rewatch Autumn Favourites
Who says you have to wait until October? Go to your cozy corner a put on the fall classics Gilmore Girls, Anne with an E, or maybe even Pride & Prejudice. Even better if there’s a summer storm outside.
Let Go
You don’t have to love summer and it’s okay if it’s not your season. I have heard the phrase “Can’t you just enjoy the summer for once?“ countless times and I have to admit that at times it has made me feel guilty. But when I stopped blaming myself for not enjoying every sun-drenched second, I started finding tiny moment of unexpected peace. And that for me is where the beauty of summer is. Go for a short walk, journal in the shade, take deep breaths. Enjoy the season at your pace.

Summer doesn’t have to be all beach parties and blazing heat. It can be something softer - a quiet space to rest, to reflect and to prepare for the rest of the year. It is balance that helps us appreciate the colder months. So let the days be long and sit in the glow of the evening sun, knowing that the crisp wind and golden leaves are on their way.
Thank you for reading and I hope I see you next time 🍂
Keep your heart cozy - no matter the season.
